About Tenuta del Cannavale
A farmer by vocation, Gennaro Manna approached agriculture in 2010 by cultivating the family land in Forio. But only a few years later, supported by his sister Anna, he acquired the Cannavale estate in the municipality of Barano d’Ischia. A company over 300 meters above sea level, without vehicular access, surrounded by chestnut woods outside the inhabited centers. Land worked on terraces supported by dry stone walls in local lava stone. Always respectful of nature and biodiversity, the Manna brothers make wine in the vineyard and in the cellar without the use of chemicals, without the addition of yeasts, enzymes, sugars, and anything else that could alter the natural winemaking process of the must. Fundamental in the spontaneous fermentation of still whites is the use of terracotta amphorae closed with sealed granite caps. The wines of the Cannavale Estate are therefore the result of an essential conservation from the vine to the bottle: those grapes that are cultivated with passion and dedication for an entire year.
