About Sons of Wine GW Inspiration
Sons of Wine GW Inspiration is an orange (skin contact) wine from old-vine Gewurztraminer plantings. Intensely herbal on the nose and the palate, with dried tropical fruit and bread dough notes. Spontaneous fermentation from wild yeasts and fermentation to complete dryness. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and no SO2. This wine is for true lovers of this characterful grape.
About Sons of Wine
There is only one “Son of Wine” in this operation, and his name is Farid Yahimi, who runs his natural winemaking operation out of facilities in Ammerschihr, in Alsace. Originally from Nancy, France, and with an Algerian/Kabyle background, Yahimi’s transformational moment came in late 1999 with his discovery of natural wine. At that point, he left behind Burgundy and Bordeaux’s classic wines. Today his range encompasses everything from a cross-European blend of Verdejo and Sylvaner to Pinot Gris barred-aged beneath the Mediterranean sea.
About Gewurztraminer
Gewurztraminer (or Gewürztraminer in German-speaking regions) is a pink-skinned grape variety that produces some of the world’s most distinctive aromatic white wines. Gewurztraminer wines are perfumed with aromas ranging from blossom to lychee and orange peel, all with a relatively full body, low acidity, and ranging from dry to sweet. Most readily associated with the Alsace region of northeastern France, the grape is found in wine regions worldwide.
