About Sam Vinciullo Red/White Margaret River

Sam Vinciullo Red/White Margaret River is a gorgeous blend of Shiraz and skin-contact Sauvignon Blanc. No fining, filtering, or SO2 additions. The grapes are dry grown near the town of Cowaramup in the Margaret River region and farmed using organic practices since taking over the vineyard at the beginning of 2017. All vines are own-rooted. Fermented on skins and made without any pumping, temperature control of ferment, filtering, fining, oak or additions (SO2 is an addition, therefore no SO2). Just grapes. This wine is alive so should be looked after accordingly.

About Sam Vinciullo

Sam is based in Margaret River and is the only true natural winemaker (never machine harvests, never filters, never adds sulfites, etc) in the region. He is on the Indian Ocean in a beautiful microclimate, farms his own vines organically with some biodynamic practices, and makes his wines with no additions or subtractions. He doesn’t use pumps, loves light reds and whites with some skin contact, and ferments and ages everything in clay as he thinks of even neutral oak as an addition to the wine.

Sam has been making wine his entire adult life and has done vintages all over the world, including California and Sicily, and settled back home in Western Australia in 2015 to start making wine under his own label. He lives in a small house next to the winery surrounded by the vines he farms with his dog Gloria and a brood of chickens who Gloria tends to.

Sam is a purist and a dreamer. His wines are always as natural as it can get, and he values purity, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
