ABOUT THE PRODUCER

About Pigar Ancestral Rosado Pet Nat

Pigar Ancestral Rosado Pet Nat is a new Rosé Petnat from Juan and Susana made from mostly Royal with 10% Bobal. The Royal grape is a pink color on
the vine and is almost extinct except in this region. All of the grapes from these small parcels are farmed organically and taken into their garage winery for spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. With around 4 g/L of RS, the wines are bottled under a crown cap for Ancestral fermentation and aged with the fine lees for at least 3 months before being disgorged to order. No filtering, fining, or SO2 is ever added. This is the
first vintage we have received of this wine and it is already a hit. Fresh, clean, and goes down all too easy. Dry, with exceptionally expressive bubbles. Very limited production.

About Bodegas Y Viñedos Pigar

If you like the Cueva wines then you’re gonna love these. Let’s just say Mariano took Juan under his wing and showed him everything he knows. Juan’s family owns vineyards in and around Requena but it’s only Juan who found his vocation in winemaking after meeting Mariano and tasting the magic. You’re probably asking yourselves why he has so much Chardonnay and the answer is quite simple. Utiel-Requena is an authorized Cava region and for this reason, his family planted so much Chardonnay. That said, he’s also working with/recovering some of the region’s indigenous grape varieties like Tardana, Tortusi, Royal, and of course, Bobal. He practices organic viticulture and his winemaking is as radical as Mariano’s. Pure fermented grape juice, nothing else.
