ABOUT THE PRODUCER

About Philippe Jambon Une Tranche Sudiste

Philippe Jambon Une Tranche Sudiste is a juicy, fruity BoJo meets Rhone collaboration between Philipe and winemaker Denis Tardieu. 85% Syrah and 15% Grenache, co-fermented in a tank, with some whole-cluster and stems. A small amount of SO2 at bottling. Rhone fruit with a distinctly Bojo mindset: vibrant red cherry, a touch of leather and jerky, seasoned with salt and pepper.

About Philippe Jambon

Philippe Jambon started his domaine in Chasselas in the northern Beaujolais in 1997. Over the years he has acquired 3.5 hectares of micro parcels scattered around the area. From the beginning, Philippe’s drive has been the same. To tend their vineyards with care and without chemicals. To make wines without any additions. Giving the wines the time in barrel that they need. Tasting in Philippe’s cellar is remarkable. It is a journey back through many vintages tasting wines that are still working and finding their place a good few years into their lives. The bottled results are hard to come by and totally jaw-dropping.

Philippe’s vineyards were hit by devastating hailstorms in two consecutive years. He lost the majority of his harvest. As a result, he started a small négociant enterprise working with other vignerons in Beaujolais to make certain cuvées in a Jambon style.
