Mission Wines Dos Tinto is a serious and delicious red blend from the Ribeira Sacra of Galicia in Spain. Made with Mencía, Garnacha, Merenzao, and Brancellao varieties. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermentation with native yeasts takes place in stainless steel tanks. Aging continues in neutral French oak barrels for 8 months and has the structure to continue acquiring complexity with more time in the bottle. The resulting wine has notes of red fruit and licorice on a background of vanilla and cocoa. The mouthfeel is tasty and balanced, with good acidity and a fresh and subtle tannin finish. Only 500 bottles were produced.

About Mission Wines
Winemaker Zachary Elfman is a Bay Area native who felt called to Galicia due to its terroir similarity to Northern California. Mission wines are of seriously limited quantities, creating a treat for those who get their hands on them. The wines are unadulterated by chemicals (aside from a bit of sulfur for stability) and hand-made through every step of the vinification -from picking in 18kg cases to being stomped underfoot for the initial crush and gentle punch downs. They are all aged in neutral French oak barrels for as long as they need, with racking kept at a minimum and no filtering. This production is extremely small i.e. 250 bottles made.
