About May Georges Crémant de Loire Brut
May Georges Crémant de Loire Brut is a blend of three single vineyards, which combined a total of nine hectares. The first vineyard is in Touraine, among rolling green hills; the second is in the historic appellation of Montlouis, with tuffeau subsoils and sandy topsoils; and the third is planted in flinty clay soils alongside the central Loire River port. It is also in this location that all goods exotic and tempting would arrive in France from the Caribbean. In this last site, May Georges held her salon for the eccentrics and avant-garde. A toast to the legendary hostess.
About Drink the Rent
Drink the Rent was born in the spring of 2016. Years in the wine business always led to the same moment each day – sharing that first glass with friends, colleagues, and colorful characters. I always prefer wines of extra finesse and texture, at a price I can afford. Naturally, the Loire Valley in France was where I started my search.
When the opportunity to partner with celebrated French winemaker Jean Mounard became possible, my aim was made clear – deliver honest wines with regional typicity. Wines focused on delicacy and freshness – fruit and minerality. Wines that can easily lead to a second bottle.
