More Information
Jauma is a family business founded by James Erskine in 2010. Before leaving the hospitality industry James was awarded the Negotiants working with wine scholarship in 2008, Australian Gourmet Traveller Sommelier of the year 2008, Len Evans scholar 2008 and was chief judge of the Adelaide Review’s Hot 100 wine show from 2010-2013.
Jauma continues its decade-long relationship with Mclaren vale vineyard consultants Fiona Wood and Dave Gartelman who manage the vineyards from where we take the majority of our fruit.
James purchased an organic cherry farm in the hills of Adelaide in 2018. This farm celebrates 10 years of certified organic farming and 1200 cherry trees offering 15 varieties. We offer our cherries from the farm as “pick your own” in December and January.
In 2020 we will plant our own vineyards on the farm. Our on-site nursery is currently growing: Chenin blanc, Savagnin, Cabernet Franc, and Traminer. Jauma farm and winery is nurtured by Sophie Taylor, James Erskine, and Andrew Douglas.
