About Itsasmendi Bat Berri Orange Wine
Itsasmendi Bat Berri Orange Wine sees carbonic maceration for 15 days with whole bunches of Hondarrabi Zuri grapes. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in a conical stainless steel tank. The only house wine that naturally undergoes malolactic fermentation. Storage in an old tub and small aging in a white clay jar to refine this orange txakoli that evolves favorably in the bottle.
Intense nose with an explosion of passion fruit and apricot, balsamic like the tea plant, and even a fresh eucalyptus background. Perfumed mouth, freshness and subtle varietal astringency as a result of the maceration, in its journey it shows peach and yellow flowers, with a finish of quince and dried fruit.
About Bodegas Itsasmendi
In 1989 several winegrowers jointly resumed an activity such as viticulture that historically has had such socio-economic and cultural importance in Bizkaia. In 1995 they inaugurated their first facilities in Muskiz, with a capacity for 25,000 liters and in 2002 the winery moved to Gernika, a privileged enclave of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve. Mountainous slopes near the Bay of Biscay give rise to the name of the winery and its most valuable heritage, 35 hectares of vineyards. The expression of the climate, the soil, the topography, the microclimate of each vineyard plot, the planning, and management of the vineyards, the use of a respectful and innovative oenological criterion with the most authentic concept of a Denomination of Origin has endowed Bodegas Itsasmendi of his own personality.
Bodegas Itsasmendi is like the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve to which it belongs: in permanent evolution, full of diversity, natural and complex. The restless and innovative spirit of the team has originated a new concept for Txakoli from respect for the Natural Environment. This new building that represents the ground from which it emerges, aims to be a living building that evolves naturally over the years, adapting to the space where it has been built.
It has an R + D room for new elaborations according to market trends, a Microvinification space to improve the quality of some of our products, and a supply of tanks of different volumes that allow us to elaborate by Municipality, Places, or Singular Vineyards.
