About Hidden Society Sangiovese
Hidden Society Sangiovese is a light, fresh, and fruity chill-able red wine. Flavors and aromas reminiscent of bing cherries, dark berries, and tangerines. Naturally fermented organic wine with no filtration and zero additions of sulfites. Vegan-friendly.
Originally planted for Palomino grapes to make Sherry, Chance Creek was purchased by Lou Bock in 1979, after being neglected for over 25 years. Low pH soils and cool nights keep the vineyard’s Sauvignon Blanc and Sangiovese bright and fresh. Bock practices organic farming.
About Hidden Society
Created by husband and wife duo Brendon and Ariana, Hidden Society is “a movement to empower, educate and inspire those who come from all different backgrounds”. They intend to accomplish their goals through small-batch, exclusive limited releases of wine to better promote diversity amongst the often-homogenized alcohol beverage industry.
Winemaker Brendon Pineda is doing just that, with his first cuvée, the 2020 Hidden Society Sangiovese from Mendocino County. This is the first collaboration of Subject to Change’s Budbreak Project, a resource-sharing initiative for aspiring winemakers.
