FUSO Tèh Vino Rosso

$23.00

1 in stock

Vintage: 2021
Region: Piemonte, Italy
Viticulture: Organic
Grape varieties: Barbera, Freisa, Grignolino, and Bonarda

FUSO Tèh Vino Rosso comes from the Russo brothers at Crotin, located in Maretto municipality in the far west of the Monferrato Astigiano wine area. White marine limestone and sandy soils here accent Tèh’s punchy raspberry fruit profile with a chalk stamp. A palpable tension on the mid-palate – between Barbera’s vertical acidity and Freisa and Grignolino’s grippy tannins – reminds one of the Italian saying semplice ma non banalé: simple but not boring. Such is the way of Tèh, a humble Rosso Piemonte wine with both soil and grape variety clearly etched.

Let’s keep things Italian and pair this humble but delicious wine with a Cheesy Baked Pasta with Sausage and Ricotta. The wine has enough personality to balance perfectly with this rich, comforting dish.

About the FUSO Project

If any country can teach us about life’s small pleasures – such as enjoying a delicious and characterful daily drinker –  it’s Italy!

FUSO is wine importer PortoVino’s project to search for and bottle natural wines from farmers they know in Italy. They work with them in choosing specific vineyards and are present for fermentation, élevage, sample tasting, and eventual bottling. A part of the import team lives full-time in Italy, so they’re in a unique position to be close to the production side.

These are great introductions to natural wines, and you’ll find them chilling in our fridges at home.

A couple more details of what FUSO is all about:
• Terroir wines where grape variety and soil are the stars.
• Made by farmers (not tank farms).
• Certified Organic (or practicing organic wineries in conversion).
• Native yeasts fermentations.
• Unfiltered or lightly filtered.
• Low sulphur (45 mg/l or less of added SO2).
• Delicious with alcohol levels between 12% – 13%.
