Domaine Siret-Courtaud Quincy entices with invigorating aromas of citrus fruits, crisp green apples, and delicate floral notes, creating a refreshing bouquet that lures you in. On the palate, it reveals a harmonious balance of zesty acidity, vibrant fruit flavors, and a subtle mineral undertone. The wine boasts a light to medium body, a lively texture, and a clean, lingering finish. A blend of several plots on alluvial sand and gravel atop clay-limestone subsoil. Harvested slightly overripe to seek ripe fruit and richness on the palette. Vineyard’s average age is 45 years. Pneumatic pressing, undergoes a cold pre-fermentation maceration in temperature-controlled INOX, as a means to search for a balance between freshness and fruitiness according to the vintage. The wines are then racked onto their fine lees and aged for a few more months. Aging 6 months. Bottled in the Spring.

About Domaine Siret-Courtaud
Vincent Siret’s father Jacques was a grain farmer in the Centre Loire who moved into polyculture in the 1990s by growing asparagus and raising chickens. In 1995, he purchased 1.5 hectares of vines in the Quincy appellation. Vincent knew he wanted to become a vigneron after obtaining a degree in agricultural engineering. He returned to the Loire in 2006 purchasing 10 hectares of vines in Quincy, creating his own domaine “Siret-Courtaud.”
He and his brother represent the current generation in Quincy that has grown and evolved from their parent’s generation while maintaining the spirit of cooperation in the region. If you ever meet, be sure to ask him about the methods he uses to combat frost. Wow.
Quincy is a very small appellation southwest of Sancerre, covering only 270 hectares along the river Cher, a tributary of the Loire. It’s one of the driest and warmest areas in Central Loire which creates a uniquely delicious expression of Sauvignon Blanc. Quincy has more sand, clay, and gravel – no limestone (as there might be in Sancerre) so less on minerality but more on fruit.
Today, Vincent owns 12 hectares of Quincy with an average vine age of 35 years, including some vines that date back to 1945. He recently started implementing organic practices in his vineyards.
