About Chateau Peyrabon Haut-Medoc
Chateau Peyrabon Haut-Medoc is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (67%), Merlot (27%), Petit Verdot (4%) and Cabernet Franc (2%). This vintage has a very rich color, similar to the opacity of ink. Enticing aromas of black fruits, blueberries, and blackberries immediately present themselves. Peyrabon 2016 has a refreshing and dynamic attack, with a strong acidic structure. The tannins, elevated by their elegant grain, are fleshy, delicate, and silky. This vintage reveals Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot that add hints of spiciness.
The 2016 Peyrabon has a feminine and pure bouquet with red cherries and wild strawberry fruit. The oak here is present but neatly interwoven with pressed flower notes developing with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy entry. The acidity is nicely judged, although the light structure suggests that this Haut-Médoc will probably drink earlier than many.
About Chateau Peyrabon
Situated in the appellation of Haut-Medoc, Chateau Peyrabon is a cru bourgeois with a strong personality. Its current owner Patrick Bernard, of the wine merchant Millésima, fell under the spell of the charming 50-hectare estate of promising gravel terroir in 1998. Since then, M. Bernard and his team, led by Xavier Michelet, have been passionately dedicated to creating authentic wines that are elegant, silky, and marked by their freshness and fruity character – typical of an excellent Cabernet Sauvignon.
