About Chateau de Gaudou

The Chateau Gaudou winery begins in 1733 when Fabrice Durou’s ancestors settled in Gaudou. Seven generations followed, each with their own share of innovation and modernization.

The Château de Gaudou grew over time. From the cultivation of lavender to the trade of wine in barrels. From the extension of the vineyard to the first sale in bottles. The men and women of the chateau were able to tame this land!

In 1966, Jean-Louis, Fabrice’s grandfather, created the first label. Gaudou wine is now marketed in these bottles. Jean-Louis participated in obtaining the AOC Cahors designation in 1971. This marked the beginning of a new era for our entire region.

In the 1980s, it was René and Brigitte, Fabrice’s parents, who made their contribution to the story. They built a new, modern, state-of-the-art, stainless steel wine storehouse! The property continued to prosper and grow.

And so, at the beginning of the 2000s, Fabrice made his return. He was away on experiences in St Emilion, Cahors, and Australia. Fabrice focused on the extension of the vineyard and new wine storehouses. He championed new techniques in the vineyard as well as in the cellar. Now, he brought with him a wind of novelty! With his head full of ideas, he diversified his products. He prioritized his range of wines. He also brought a new dimension to the estate: reasoned and sustainable agriculture.
