About Andrea Scovero Ciapin Barbera d’Asti

Andrea Scovero Ciapin Barbera d’Asti is a rich and juicy red wine, vinified and aged only in steel tanks. The perfumes are articulated and intense, with notes of wild berries, spices, licorice and balsamic herbs. The taste is energic, smooth, and with a good freshness. Average vine age ~45 years old. Harvested and sorted by hand. Spontaneous fermentation in inox steel for 20-30 days, until malo is complete. Aged 6-7 months in inox steel, bottled unfined/unfiltered.

About Andrea Scovero

Andrea Scovero is a third-generation winemaker from Bionzo, a small village in the hills of Costigliole d’Asti about 7 miles south of the town of Asti. In this tiny village with 100 citizens, Andrea is one of ten wine growers. He is the fourth generation farming this 6-hectare estate of south and south-east facing really steep slopes planted with healthy vines. He learned everything from his grandfather and has now been working with wine for 20 years. He is blessed to be situated in a natural amphitheater, providing the ideal balance of exposure and protection for his vines.
