4Kilos Vinicola 4 Kilos Tinto is a single-varietal Callet and perhaps the best representation of Mallorca’s terroir and viticultural potential. It’s fresh, focused, and serious. Ethereal red berry fruit combined with chalky tannins and a savory Mediterranean herbal character. A supremely balanced and pleasurable wine. The grapes are sourced from different vineyards in the north and south of the island, with altitudes varying from 120 to 180 meters above sea level. After hand-picking and sorting, 50% of the grapes are fermented in stainless steel and another 50% in open-top 2500-liter oak vats. Each parcel was fermented and macerated separately at temperatures ranging from 20ºC to 30ºC. The wine is then aged for 14 months in new 600-litre oak barrels.

About 4Kilos Vinicola

Childhood friends Francesc and Sergio, with a passion for winemaking and music, respectively, came together to create something truly special. They started with a humble investment of just $35,000, or 4 million Pesetas, as it was known in Spain’s former currency. And so, 4Kilos was born.

Francesc, a gifted winemaker with a wealth of international experience, and Sergio, a talented music festival founder, make quite the duo. Their aim is simple: to showcase the beauty of the Mallorcan terroir under a super slick brand.

To get started, they had to be resourceful. Working with older farmers and bootstrapping their first cuvée, they vinified their wine in old milk fridges. It’s what makes their story so unique and inspiring. They officially launched in 2007 and haven’t looked back since.

The 4Kilos winery is located near Felanitx, Mallorca, and boasts an impressive range of grapes including Manto negro, Callet, and Fogoneu.
